Mountain Lions

We offer full service hunts or photo safari, your choice. You must be in reasonable shape due to the lack of roads in these areas. The season is open year round with November - February with snow being the best time. Residents or non-residents can buy up to 2 tags over the counter. Depending on conditions, we will use pick-ups, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles or horses to look for the elusive Mt. Lions tracks. Then some of our cold nosed hounds are put on the track and the race is on. It is then your job to help the hounds out by making it to their quarry. We will follow the hounds mostly by foot unless the conditions permit the use of horses. Then it’s your choice of weapon- Bow, muzzleloader, pistol, rifle or camera.

If there’s not much snow or you request that we go by horseback, we trailer the horses and hounds to a likely cougar area. Saddle up, turn the hounds loose and ride, letting the hounds work and search out a fresh lion track.

We pride ourselves at taking mostly mature Trophy Toms. And we keep and maintain several packs of highly trained, cold nosed hounds so you are assured of always having fresh dogs for your hunt.
